Parents will either look down on their child or think their child is not trustworthy enough..
Sometimes they don't even understand what is going on in school and without getting the full picture, they think it's redundant and it's a waste of time when we can actually use those time on studying
They still think the system hasn't changed
That's why we students always get stuck in between school stuff and parents..
School says it's compulsory..parents think they are bullshit and it's too time consuming
School says it's beneficial..parents think they are bullshit too

Take me for example..

My mum is always against the idea of me joining band since I was in sec 1
Going for performance or whatever shit she will think I'm being a busybody for volunteering myself
Joining a CCA is a must in school yet she think it's redundant


Take my sis for another example..

She's now in band..
And she find archery interesting..
I asked "what if you have to go for practice on tuesdays as well? It will clash you know?"
My sis replied " It's a temporary thing, I'll just have to go for three sessions..it's not a CCA"
See..as a student..I can understand..I have no comments..
But what my mum's reaction?
" Why can't you just stick to one CCA like your sis? Why do you always change your mind and your interest?" nag and nag and nag without knowing the full story
My sis didn't have the chance to even explain..gosh...

Why can't they just be understanding enough?
